Monika's Biography, Passions and Personal History
Monika Bacardi (Ambigala) is a resident of Monaco nowadays; she has been a resident there for more than twenty years. A deep enthusiasm for philanthropy and art contributed to her choice to study arts and literature in her country of birth, Italy. As a result of her love of philanthropy, she takes part in many non-profit organisations and charitable organisations. Monika Bacardi married into the Bacardi family and she is, at present, the Lady of Bayfield Hall.
She thinks that one should strive to work with a happy face and should try to stay happy. In many areas of her life, Monika Bacardi likes to voice her profound awareness of social and green issues. Monika Bacardi very much loves her work and, because of this, it is also a great part of her personal life.
Having consideration for her fellow people: this is what motivates Monika Bacardi's philanthropic passions. Lady Bacardi is highly supportive of a few of the cancer-related charitable organisations, such as Fondation AVEC, Gabrielle's Angel Foundation for Cancer Research and Ecoute Cancer Réconfort. Young peoples' comfort is of great significance to Lady Bacardi. For this reason, she works with the Association Nationale Monégasque des Amis de l'Enfance (AMADE-Monaco). Mission Enfance, which gives academic support to children in need, is a charity in which Monika Bacardi strongly believes.
Her Professional Activities
By using the AMBI Group, Monika Bacardi tries to distribute between eight and ten films each year, covering anything from in-house to third party productions. AMBI Group and 'PHOTO' magazine are the major concerns around which Monika's professional life revolves. The influential 'PHOTO' magazine (which has been running since 1967) was purchased by Monika Bacardi a few years back.
Monika Bacardi & the SAS Prince Albert II of Monaco's Foundation
Monika Bacardi has participated in various undertakings with the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation. Lady Bacardi is a great supporter of the encouragement of environmentally-friendly behaviour and this is one of the reasons she supports the H.S.H. Prince Albert II Foundation. She is associated with the H.S.H. Prince Albert II Foundation and is very much engaged in other cultural and humanitarian programs in Monaco. Heightening the understanding of the effects people's activities have on our planet is something that Monika Bacardi aims to accomplish by means of the foundation.
Film can change the world: Monika Bacardi is convinced of this. She is convinced that cinema is a medium that can offer the opportunity to deliver diverse messages to a variety of audiences. She is part of the Monaco Project for the Arts, which helps to both support the University of Plastic Arts and encourage artistic partnerships in Monaco. She loves modern art and photography, appreciating the works of many recognised photographers and artists. l'Opera de Monte Carlo has been aided by Amis de l'Opera (an organisation that Monika Bacardi has contributed greatly to) for over thirty years.
